Special Olympics 2003-2008

Joule worked with Dominos, an SOGB sponsor, to stage “Come and Try Events” in 5 cities across the UK in 2007 and 2008. These events actively encouraged participation and raised awareness of the Special Olympics.

How to keep the Special Olympics torch alight for 10 weeks, across 2415 miles (and with the help of 43 police forces)? Ask Joule.

Joule was asked back to manage the Law Enforcement Torch Run for the National Summer Games 2005, after the successful Law Enforcement Torch Run for the World Summer Games 2003.

Joule conducted the research, identified the sites, prepared and managed 10 events in 10 cities across the UK, to deliver fun runs and family fun days for people with learning disabilities and their friends and families

Joule organised the event in 2003, when 150 international police officers and 2000 local people visited the Houses of Parliament, took a flight on the London Eye and ran along the South Bank and into the GLA building. The Flame of Hope then travelled to Dublin and was greeted by Mohamed Ali and Nelson Mandela.
