Project Management
Southbank Centre 2002 – 2011
Joule has successfully managed projects at the Southbank Centre since 2002. In 2009 – 2010 Joule coordinated the groundbreaking Future Jobs Project, funded by the DWP, that placed 30 unemployed young people into new jobs. Joule continues to deliver projects throughout the Southbank Centre's many performance spaces, and with many international and national performers; from readings and recitals, to youth choirs and Japanese theatre.
In 2007 Joule organised the stage management and artist liaison (inc travel and accommodation) for 10,000 performers per day for Overture, the remarkable two-day event that celebrated the re-opening of the Royal Festival Hall and attracted 250,000 visitors across the weekend.
Joule has managed the production of several installations within the Southbank Centre's free spaces such as The Clore Ballroom. The role has involved research, design, and construction and included multimedia content.
Finally Joule set up and managed the Udderbelly Training Academy in 2009 and 10. In collaboration with Underbelly Ltd, Joule devised and delivered a 5-week course for young people aged between 16 and 21, which included training, overseeing work experience and facilitating an event organised by the young trainees. Joule then accompanied 6 young people on work experience at the Edinburgh Festival.
