The Shimmy - Wandsworth Arts Festival 2010

Joule worked with Home Live Art and Wandsworth Arts Team as the production managers for The Shimmy- a day of spectacular outdoor arts along the banks of the river Thames from Wandsworth Park to Putney Wharf. As the main event of the Wandsworth Arts Festival 2010 the day included performances, music, participatory activities, installations, interventions, workshops and a dog show. Commissioned artists included: Encounters with their site specific theatre show along Deodar Road, a 'river theatre' and interactive installations: and Graeme Miller whose 'Track' installation ran the length Wandsworth Park's amazing 300m avenue of trees with individual audience members, face-up on a camera style dolly and track, smoothly trundled by their individual 'grip' on a slow journey, and invited to gaze upwards.
This wonderful day also included festival favourites Disco Shed, The Pump House Gallery's vintage mobile cinema bus, The Big Dance Bus, Tara Arts, Holly Gramazio & The Post-card Project, Shape, The Shimmy Mass Choir, The Royal Academy of Dance, Pet- Tastic and more.
